Lula's strong positioning in Amazonas for first place in the 2026 presidential first round stems from his incumbency advantage and consistent leads or near-ties in recent state polls amid a broader national contest against Flávio Bolsonaro. Surveys from August show Lula at 38-45% versus Flávio's 35-41%, with other candidates like Renan Santos, Pablo Marçal, Ronaldo Caiado, Romeu Zema, and Augusto Cury trailing far behind in single digits. Regional factors include Lula's interior support base and a recent offshore oil discovery that bolsters his development-focused messaging in the Amazon. Traders' consensus pricing, reflected in elevated implied probabilities for Lula over lower odds for Flávio and minimal shares for fringe names, aligns with these polling patterns and the state's electoral dynamics ahead of the October vote.
