The Parti Québécois maintains a clear lead in trader consensus for the October 5, 2026, Quebec election due to consistent polling advantages of 28-30% popular support, concentrated among francophone voters, and a string of by-election gains that expanded its caucus. Recent Léger and Pallas surveys show the CAQ closing some ground to 24% under new leader Christine Fréchette by drawing from Liberal voters, yet the first-past-the-post system and split federalist support continue to favor the PQ for a plurality of seats. The campaign, underway since late August, features fluid undecided voters and debates over sovereignty timelines alongside trade concerns, leaving room for shifts in the final weeks before resolution.
