Magdalena Andersson leads the Next Prime Minister market at 78.5% because consistent polling through summer and early September shows her Social Democrats and the broader centre-left bloc ahead of or competitive with Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s Tidö coalition ahead of the September 13 Riksdag election. Recent surveys indicate the opposition’s advantage has narrowed modestly from double digits but remains intact on key issues including welfare, cost of living, and crime, while the Liberals hover below the 4% threshold. Centre Party statements favoring cooperation with Andersson over Kristersson further reinforce trader consensus on a likely shift in government formation. Kristersson’s 20.5% share reflects the coalition’s trailing position and internal tensions over Sweden Democrats’ cabinet demands, with all other candidates priced under 1% given their parties’ limited bloc influence.
