Latest National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago point to a September 6 minimum in the mid-60s Fahrenheit, driven by a shift to northeast winds moderating temperatures after several days of above-normal heat with lows near 77°F. Model consensus supports partly cloudy skies and light winds overnight, limiting radiational cooling while lake moderation near Lake Michigan caps the drop; historical September 6 averages near 63°F provide context for the expected cooling. Uncertainty in exact minimum stems from variations in forecast wind speeds, cloud cover, and mesoscale influences, keeping market-implied odds closely clustered around 64–69°F bins as traders weigh the latest model runs ahead of resolution.
