Recent National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble guidance for Chicago O’Hare indicate an overnight low in the mid-60s on September 7, with 64–67 °F ranges capturing the bulk of market-implied probability. Light easterly winds off Lake Michigan, combined with partly cloudy skies and modest radiative cooling under a building high-pressure ridge, limit further temperature drops below the seasonal average of roughly 62 °F. Model consensus shows little spread in boundary-layer temperatures, though any increase in cloud cover or a slight wind shift could trim the minimum by a degree or two. The next updated forecast discussion and real-time mesonet observations overnight will provide the final inputs before market resolution.
