Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus point to a daily maximum near 86°F for Chicago on September 8, driven by southerly flow advecting warmer air under partly cloudy skies that allow substantial solar heating before any evening moisture increase. This setup sits several degrees above the 79°F climatological average high, reflecting a late-summer pattern with limited frontal interference. Trader emphasis on the 84–87°F range reflects uncertainty in afternoon cloud cover and dew-point trends, which can trim or sustain peak temperatures within a narrow window; updated NWS guidance and short-range model runs over the next 48 hours will refine the exact maximum recorded at official stations.
