Persistent high pressure over the southern Plains and southerly flow are sustaining above-average heat across North Texas, with National Weather Service and private models consensus forecasting a sunny high near 101°F for Dallas on September 8. Recent days have seen consecutive 100°F readings at DFW amid 52 dry days and strengthening ridging that limits cloud cover and mixing. This setup favors the 100–103°F range dominating market-implied odds, as modest differences in afternoon dew points, wind speeds near 5–10 mph, and boundary-layer heating determine whether the peak lands in the lower or upper end of that window. Historical September averages near 92°F underscore the anomaly, while ensemble spread remains narrow given the stable pattern.
