National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model consensus point to a high in the upper 70s for Chicago on September 7 under mostly sunny skies and light easterly flow, following several days of 90-plus readings earlier in the month. This setup favors 78-79°F as the most likely outcome while allowing limited upside potential into the low 80s if daytime heating exceeds expectations. Light winds and minimal cloud cover should limit mixing and support a standard diurnal rise from overnight lows in the mid-60s. The implied probabilities align with typical late-summer variability and climatological baselines near 76°F for early September, with resolution hinging on the official daily maximum at Chicago O’Hare.
