**Northeast winds and lake moderation are anchoring the market's strong preference for a 76–79°F high in Chicago on September 6.** Official forecasts from WeatherBug, WillyWeather, and local NWS guidance show highs in the upper 70s under partly cloudy skies, with northeast flow at 5–10 mph limiting inland warming and keeping lake-adjacent areas cooler. This follows several days of 90s+ readings that have given way to a cooler, more stable pattern. The implied probabilities align closely with model consensus around 76–78°F, reflecting the limited upside from the current steering pattern and absence of stronger southerly flow or clear-sky heating. Historical September 6 averages near 80°F provide context, but the fresh northeast regime has shifted trader sentiment toward the lower end of the typical range ahead of tomorrow’s final observations.
