Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service indicate a shift to northeasterly flow bringing cooler, drier air into the Chicago region on September 6, 2026, after several days of highs near 90°F. This advection, combined with partly cloudy skies and light winds, supports radiative cooling overnight and a daily minimum likely in the mid-to-upper 60s°F. Model runs show limited disagreement on the exact low, with historical September averages near 63°F providing context for the clustered market-implied odds around 64–69°F. Official observations at O’Hare or Midway will resolve the market once the full 24-hour period ends, with any unexpected clearing or wind shift potentially pushing the minimum lower.
