Current National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model guidance indicate a high of 77–79°F for Chicago on September 6, driven by easterly flow off Lake Michigan that limits daytime heating after early-month heat. This follows record-warm lows and 90+°F readings September 1–4, with a shift to cooler, more stable air under partly cloudy skies and light winds. The 78–79°F bin leads at 53.5% implied probability as it aligns with the consensus upper-70s projection near historical normals of 79.6°F, while lower bins capture downside risks from greater lake moderation or increased cloud cover. Traders will monitor updated NWS runs and any late adjustments to boundary-layer moisture ahead of resolution.
