Macron has consistently rejected these demands, reaffirming his intent to serve until his term ends on May 13, 2027, when he is constitutionally barred from consecutive re-election. As the 2027 presidential campaign accelerates—with candidates from the National Rally, centrists, and left positioning themselves amid polls favoring far-right contenders—Macron operates in a lame-duck capacity, prioritizing international diplomacy while domestic staff depart and fiscal pressures mount. Upcoming budget deadlines and potential legislative votes could test stability, though structural term limits and his stated commitment anchor expectations of completion absent unforeseen crises.
