The crowded field of more than 15 registered candidates for Arequipa's October 4, 2026, mayoral election has produced closely matched probabilities in the prediction market, reflecting a fragmented vote that recent surveys place below 25% for any single contender. Manuel Vera Paredes leads some late-August polling, followed by Renzo Salas Herrera and Ricardo Ramírez del Villar Llosa, while Alfredo Álvarez Díaz and others trail amid regional party competition and questions over candidate backgrounds. Finalized inscriptions after JNE review, ongoing campaign events, and voter indecision continue to compress implied probabilities, with any consolidation around frontrunners or turnout shifts in the remaining weeks likely to widen gaps before election day.
