Incumbent Republican Dan Patrick secured his party's nomination with over 84 percent in the March primary and now holds an 82.5 percent implied probability in the November 3, 2026 general election. Democratic nominee Vikki Goodwin, a state representative who won her runoff in May, sits at 18.5 percent amid Texas's consistent Republican advantage in statewide contests. Minor-party candidates and write-ins account for the balance of trader consensus. With roughly two months until the vote, recent polling shows Patrick maintaining a lead consistent with historical patterns in the state, where structural partisan lean and incumbency have shaped outcomes more than campaign developments to date.
