Walz rejected repeated calls for resignation, stating he would not step down early despite pressure from Republican critics and federal investigations into program vulnerabilities. No verified developments since then—such as ongoing Medicaid probes, immigration enforcement actions, or legislative sessions—have signaled an intent to depart before the scheduled transition. Traders price near-certain outcomes around serving out the remainder of the term, with any shift hinging on unforeseen events like health issues or major new scandals before key resolution dates.
