This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Vaughan, Ontario as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Vaughan, Ontario.Steven Del Duca, the incumbent Vaughan mayor first elected in 2022, holds a commanding position in the October 26, 2026 municipal election as the only major candidate with established name recognition and a record of delivering a 0% local property tax increase in the 2026 budget, reduced development charges to spur housing, and infrastructure advances including transit and hospital projects. Nominations closed on August 21 with just one other certified mayoral contender, Shelly-Ann Starlette Cerrelli, and no high-profile challengers emerging.
