Wang Chung-ming, the Kuomintang incumbent magistrate of Lienchiang County, holds an 86.5% implied probability in the market as the frontrunner for the November 28, 2026, election. The KMT formally nominated him for re-election in July 2026, and he completed candidate registration in late August, positioning him against limited opposition. Independent challenger Tsao Erh-yuan, a former county land administration official who previously contested the seat in 2022, sits at 5%. No Democratic Progressive Party candidate registered, leaving the field dominated by KMT-aligned figures in this small offshore county where the party has held the magistrate post for decades. Trader consensus reflects Wang’s incumbency advantage, party organizational support, and the absence of competitive alternatives ahead of the vote.
