This market will resolve to "Yes" if the Decriminalize Adult Commercial Sexual Activity bill (SB26-097) (https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/sb26-097) is passed by both chambers of the Colorado General Assembly and becomes law by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source is official information from the government of Colorado; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The primary driver behind trader sentiment on the Colorado sex work decriminalization market is the March 2026 failure of Senate Bill 26-097. Sponsored by Democratic lawmakers including Sen. Nick Hinrichsen, the measure sought statewide repeal of criminal penalties for consensual adult commercial sexual activity, preemption of local ordinances, and an effective date of July 1, 2026. It was postponed indefinitely by the Senate Judiciary Committee after sponsors determined it lacked sufficient support to advance, amid opposition from law enforcement, Republicans, and concerns over trafficking enforcement. No alternative legislation has advanced in the 2026 session, and recent commentary continues to frame the issue around public safety and existing criminal frameworks. With the regular legislative window closed, the implied probability of "No" reflects the absence of viable paths for enactment this year.
