The 2026 Winnipeg mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 28, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Winnipeg as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Winnipeg.Incumbent Scott Gillingham holds the strongest position in the fragmented Winnipeg mayoral field ahead of the October 28 vote, with trader consensus reflecting his name recognition and incumbency edge despite June Probe Research polling showing widespread dissatisfaction and only 19% support for a second term. A crowded ballot of lower-profile challengers has limited any single opponent from consolidating opposition on issues such as housing, transit, crime, homelessness, and property taxes. Kevin Klein’s recent entry as a more experienced former councillor and provincial minister has introduced the clearest alternative at 23%, yet the race remains tight because no opponent has yet built broad momentum or high visibility before the September 22 registration deadline. Late campaign announcements on development and safety, along with voter turnout patterns, could still shift the outcome in the final weeks.
