The upcoming September 13 regional elections in Skåne leave the contest for Regional Board Chair tightly balanced, with trader pricing reflecting uncertainty over final seat shares and coalition outcomes. Incumbent Carl Johan Sonesson (M) benefits from his role leading the Moderate-Liberal-Christian Democrat arrangement backed by Sweden Democrats, while opposition leader Henrik Fritzon (S) draws support from Social Democratic positioning on healthcare and regional services. Other Moderates such as Anna Jähnke remain in contention should internal party or bloc negotiations shift priorities after the vote. The close implied probabilities stem from historical patterns of post-election bargaining in the 149-seat assembly, where no bloc holds an outright majority and small changes in turnout or party support can alter the chair selection. Scheduled election-night results and subsequent fullmäktige proceedings will clarify the path forward.
