Rachel De Basso leads trader pricing as the incumbent chair of Region Jönköpings län’s executive board, backed by the Social Democrats’ top placement on their 2026 regional lists and the current S-M-BA coalition that has held power since 2022. Regional elections on September 13 are imminent, with De Basso’s visibility reinforced by recent SKR and Inera leadership roles plus ongoing handling of healthcare priorities. Deputy figures such as Tommie Ekered (M) and Mia Frisk (KD) register lower implied probabilities consistent with their supporting positions in the existing arrangement, while opposition names including Håkan Karlsson-Nyborg (SD) and Mikael Ekvall (V) reflect limited path-to-chair scenarios absent major coalition realignments. Market pricing embeds the expectation that the post-election council will reselect the sitting chair under comparable governing math.
