Recent opinion polls for Berlin’s September 20 state election show the SPD trailing the AfD by several points, with the Social Democrats at 11–15% and the AfD at 17–19% in surveys from Infratest dimap, Forsa, and INSA conducted in late August. The SPD has fallen from its 18.4% share in the 2023 repeat election as part of the current CDU–SPD governing coalition, while the AfD has roughly doubled its 9.1% result amid broader national gains. With two weeks remaining, no major late-campaign shifts have altered the consistent gap between the two parties in available data. Traders’ consensus therefore reflects the SPD’s sustained weakness relative to the AfD in the final polling window.
