Recent polling averages place Die Linke at 19–22 percent and the SPD at 11–15 percent ahead of the 20 September Berlin Abgeordnetenhaus election, producing a consistent six-to-ten-point gap. Die Linke has risen sharply from its 12.2 percent result in the 2023 repeat vote, driven by voter focus on housing costs and the profile of its lead candidate Elif Eralp, while the SPD has continued to lose ground as the junior partner in the incumbent CDU–SPD coalition. Multiple surveys conducted in late August and early September, including those by Infratest dimap, Forsa, and Civey, show the same ordering with no narrowing trend. The resulting trader consensus of roughly 95 percent probability for Linke therefore rests on the durability of this polling differential rather than any single headline. Residual uncertainty stems from possible late-campaign volatility, differential turnout among younger or urban voters, or modest polling error, any of which could still compress or reverse the margin in the final two weeks.
