Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Sweden on September 13, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially appointed and assumes office as Prime Minister of Sweden following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must officially assume office. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister assumes office by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Sweden; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Sweden's September 13 general election is one week away, with the centre-left opposition bloc holding a consistent though narrowing lead in recent polls over the incumbent right-wing government. Magdalena Andersson's Social Democrats remain the largest party and anchor the opposition, positioning her as the frontrunner for prime minister should the left secure a parliamentary majority. Ulf Kristersson's Moderates-led coalition, supported by the Sweden Democrats, has seen its support erode amid voter concerns over the economy, crime, and energy policy, though late momentum has reduced the gap. Smaller parties and alternative candidates register negligible support in surveys and lack viable paths to form or lead a government under current bloc alignments. Trader consensus reflects these polling trends and the short remaining campaign window.
