Sweden's parliamentary election on September 13 positions Magdalena Andersson as the clear frontrunner for prime minister, with recent polls showing her Social Democrats-led centre-left bloc holding a narrow lead over the incumbent right-wing Tidö parties. The opposition bloc has maintained 50-53% support in surveys from firms including Novus, Ipsos, and Demoskop, projecting a majority of seats even as the gap narrowed to around 3-5 points in late August and early September. Andersson consistently leads preferred prime minister ratings by double digits. Ulf Kristersson's government bloc trails amid voter focus on cost of living, crime, immigration, and energy policy, compounded by the Liberals polling below the 4% threshold. A school attack in August briefly paused campaigning but reinforced security themes without shifting bloc momentum. Traders reflect this polling consensus in current pricing.
