Princess Faku, the incumbent ANC mayor of Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality since March 2023 and re-elected regional party chair in late 2025, leads trader consensus at 80.5% for the post-November 4, 2026 municipal election outcome. ANC victories in recent by-elections and her control over the Dr WB Rubusana regional structures have reinforced the party's dominance in the Eastern Cape metro, where the mayor is selected by the new council shortly after voting. Lower-priced contenders such as Ncedo Kumbaca at 10.5% and UDM candidate Nqabayomzi Kwankwa reflect limited opposition prospects, while internal ANC committee reshuffles and service delivery initiatives have sustained Faku's positioning without major recent disruptions to the implied probability.
