This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2026 Košice Region gubernatorial elections. Any interim or caretaker Governor will not qualify. If the results are not known definitively by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results as reported by government sources of Košice Region and Slovakia, including the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (https://volby.statistics.sk/).Rastislav Trnka, the incumbent Košice Region governor since 2017, holds the strongest position in the October 24, 2026, election due to consistent polling leads of 44-53 percent across multiple surveys conducted in 2026. Running as an independent after declining party backing, Trnka emphasizes regional autonomy and completed infrastructure projects, which aligns with voter preferences in the self-governing region.
