Incumbent Governor Peter Mbah of the All Progressives Congress holds the strongest position in the 2027 Enugu governorship race, backed by widespread zonal endorsements, Ohanaeze Ndigbo support, and a unanimous APC primary victory after his 2025 defection from the PDP. Recent INEC publication of the candidate list confirmed 15 contenders, with opposition votes split across parties including factional PDP nominees and smaller platforms, limiting any single challenger’s consolidation. Mbah’s emphasis on infrastructure delivery, security measures, and economic projects has sustained stakeholder backing across senatorial zones ahead of the February 2027 poll. Trader pricing reflects this incumbency advantage and fragmented field, while noting that late shifts in alliances or turnout patterns could still influence final margins.
