Trader sentiment on his removal reflects ongoing risks from Israeli targeting—reports noted attempted strikes in 2026—amid persistent cross-border tensions, Lebanese government negotiations on disarmament frameworks, and Hezbollah’s rejection of deals requiring weapons handover or withdrawal concessions. Recent speeches by Qassem have emphasized resistance continuity, loyalty to Iran, and opposition to Lebanese-Israeli talks, while internal party restructuring has shifted some roles toward political figures. Key variables include potential escalation in Israel-Hezbollah exchanges, Lebanese political pressures ahead of any future elections or cabinet shifts, and the group’s capacity to maintain leadership continuity under external military and diplomatic strain.
