Recent polls show the AfD leading Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s Landtag election on September 20 with 35–37 percent, while the SPD has narrowed the gap to 28–32 percent and holds a clear edge for second place. The Linke trails at around 11 percent, the CDU at 8–10 percent, and the Grüne near the 5 percent threshold; smaller parties remain lower. Trader consensus assigns the SPD a high probability for second because repeated surveys place it ahead of all rivals except the AfD, and the CDU’s decline plus the absence of viable alternatives reinforce this ordering. The SPD’s gains in late-August polling reflect support for incumbent Minister President Manuela Schwesig, while the AfD’s consistent lead keeps its own second-place odds low. With the vote two weeks away, further shifts remain possible but current data sustain the present ranking.
