Recent polling averages place Die Linke at 19-22 percent in the September 20 Berlin Abgeordnetenhaus election, positioning the party for roughly 30-40 seats amid a tight race with the CDU and AfD. Gains stem from membership growth exceeding 18,000 in the capital, targeted appeals on housing affordability and public services under lead candidate Elif Eralp, and voter shifts from the SPD and Greens. The incumbent CDU-SPD coalition faces headwinds, while AfD support has risen but remains secondary for Linke seat math. With two weeks until voting, final turnout among younger and urban demographics and any late campaign shifts could determine whether Linke lands in the 35-39 seat range or edges higher or lower. Trader consensus reflects these narrow polling bands and historical seat allocation patterns in Berlin's mixed-member system.
