Current National Weather Service and model guidance points to a minimum temperature in the mid-70s for Austin on September 7, driven by persistent southerly flow, limited overnight radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies, and above-normal heat indices near 108°F during the day. This setup keeps readings several degrees above the historical average low of roughly 70°F for early September. Trader positioning across the 74–78°F bins reflects modest uncertainty in exact dew-point recovery and boundary-layer mixing, while the elevated probability on 86°F or higher captures tail risk from forecast revisions or localized urban heat effects. Fresh model runs and NWS updates through the night will refine the precise threshold.
