Recent National Weather Service forecasts for New York City indicate highs in the mid-to-upper 80s on September 9, driven by southwest winds advecting warmer, humid air under partly to mostly sunny skies with limited cloud cover. This positions 84–87°F ranges as the leading market-implied outcomes, consistent with ensemble model consensus showing modest warming above early-September climatological averages near 79°F. Key variables include exact wind speeds, afternoon mixing, and any localized urban heat effects that could nudge the daily maximum. Updated NWS model runs and short-term guidance expected later today may refine these probabilities before resolution.
