With multiple titles clustered near 50% implied probability, trader sentiment for the 2027 Oscars Best Original Screenplay reflects the wide-open early stage of the race, where Wild Horse Nine’s modest 52% edge stems from initial positioning and early industry chatter rather than decisive precursors. A crowded field of originals faces typical hurdles—limited guild momentum, unproven awards narratives, and competition from established directors—while lower-odds contenders like Digger (14%) and The Debut (12.3%) trail due to narrower release strategies or weaker critical signals so far. Fall festival screenings, guild shortlists, and late-2026 reviews remain the primary catalysts that could consolidate support before Academy ballots open.
