This market will resolve to "Yes" if OpenAI completes an Initial Public Offering (IPO) by the listed date ET, as confirmed by official company announcements and credible news sources. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The IPO refers to the first sale of stock by the listed company to the public on any recognized stock exchange. If OpenAI is acquired by another company that is already public, this market will immediately resolve to "No." The resolution source for this market is a consensus of credible reporting.OpenAI’s confidential S-1 filing in early June 2026 positioned the company for a potential listing, yet internal discussions quickly shifted focus toward a 2027 debut. CEO Sam Altman has insisted on reaching a $1 trillion valuation—well above the $852 billion mark from the March funding round—while advisers cited volatile tech markets and SpaceX’s post-IPO swings as reasons to delay rather than accept a lower price. The move aligns OpenAI with rival Anthropic, which filed around the same time, amid heavy losses, ongoing infrastructure spending, and regulatory scrutiny of frontier AI models. Traders are watching for any updates on SEC review progress, tender offers, or revised guidance ahead of year-end that could clarify whether a 2026 window remains viable.
