This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Governor of New York. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Governor of New York, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Trader sentiment on 2026 New York governor election turnout remains dispersed across mid-range brackets because historical patterns and current polling point to moderate participation without clear catalysts for a surge or collapse.** With roughly 13 million registered voters, past gubernatorial contests such as 2022 produced about 5.7 million ballots, while 2024 presidential turnout reached higher levels. Recent Siena and other polls show incumbent Kathy Hochul holding a double-digit lead over Republican Bruce Blakeman, creating a competitive but not extraordinarily high-stakes environment that typically drives turnout near historical midterms rather than presidential peaks. Republican enthusiasm gaps noted in some surveys could lift participation in certain areas, yet Democratic structural advantages and limited late-cycle volatility keep probabilities clustered around 5–6.5 million total votes. Scheduled events through November, including final campaigning and any shifts in independent mobilization, remain the main variables that could separate the leading brackets.
