Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs indicate a moderating trend for coastal Los Angeles stations on September 10 after the midweek heat peak driven by residual moisture from Tropical Storm Marie. Onshore flow and a strengthening marine layer are expected to cap afternoon highs near 86–89 °F at key measurement sites such as Los Angeles International Airport, with sea-breeze timing and boundary-layer mixing as the main variables separating the tightly clustered 86–87 °F and 88–89 °F market bins. Inland valleys may still reach the mid-90s, but the official city high hinges on coastal observations. Updated model cycles and the next NWS forecast discussion will provide the clearest signals before resolution.
