Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to a high near 89–91°F in Atlanta on September 9 under building high pressure and easterly flow, favoring the market’s leading 90–91°F and 88–89°F bins. A recent cold front has cleared tropical moisture, yielding sunny skies and light winds that maximize daytime heating while limiting mixing and cloud cover. Subsidence beneath the ridge adds modest warming aloft, consistent with climatological late-summer maxima near 85°F but elevated by the current dry pattern. Official forecasts show little spread across runs, keeping the 92°F+ tail at low probability absent an unexpected shift in steering or moisture return. Updated model guidance and NWS briefings ahead of the date remain the key near-term catalysts.
