This market will resolve to "Yes" if there have been the specified amount or more confirmed cases of Measles (Rubeola) in humans in the territory of the United States of America in 2026, according to the CDC case counter by September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market will be the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter 'Total Cases' in 2026 (see: https://www.cdc.gov/measles/data-research/index.html) at the resolution time. If the counter becomes unavailable, another credible source will be used. Note: Only cases reported by the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter will qualify, regardless of reports from U.S. State agencies or other sources. As of early September 2026, the CDC has confirmed 3,134 measles cases year-to-date through September 3, with 95% linked to ongoing outbreaks across 47 jurisdictions and 94% occurring in unvaccinated individuals or those with unknown status. Primary drivers of continued transmission include sustained local chains in states such as Pennsylvania (over 550 cases), Utah, South Carolina, and Texas, fueled by declining MMR vaccination coverage. Official surveillance shows 8% hospitalization rates, while model projections and historical patterns indicate additional cases will accrue through September 30 amid weekly CDC reporting cycles and variable state-level detection. Traders should monitor forthcoming CDC updates for any shifts in confirmed counts or outbreak declarations, as underreporting and diagnostic delays introduce uncertainty around final totals.
