Apple’s upcoming September 9 event is the dominant driver of trader sentiment around the foldable iPhone’s announced starting price, with supply-chain reports confirming the device remains on track for unveiling alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models. Consistent analyst estimates from Ming-Chi Kuo, TrendForce, and others converge on a $2,000–$2,500 range for the base 256GB model—reflecting the premium book-style design, near-crease-free 7.8-inch inner OLED, advanced hinge materials, and higher component costs—positioning it above Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 while enabling strong replacement demand if quality expectations are met. Limited initial production volumes and possible staggered availability after announcement add uncertainty around exact pricing tiers, though the event itself should resolve the market with official details.
