Angie Nixon secured the Democratic nomination for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat after a decisive August 2026 primary victory over Alex Vindman, driven by strong grassroots turnout in urban and younger voter areas across the state. Broward County, a reliably Democratic stronghold with high concentrations of Black, Latino, and working-class voters, delivered Nixon a clear primary margin there despite Vindman’s residency. Trader consensus reflects this partisan baseline, with Nixon positioned as the clear favorite to carry the county in November against Republican incumbent Ashley Moody. Moody’s path to competitive performance would require unusually low Democratic turnout or late-breaking developments that shift local sentiment in a county that has favored Democratic Senate candidates in recent cycles.
