**Uba Sani, the incumbent APC governor seeking re-election, holds the leading position in the Kaduna 2027 gubernatorial race due to his unopposed party primary win in May 2026 and recent selection of Jerry Adams, a Christian from Southern Kaduna and revenue service executive, as running mate.** This July 2026 choice shifted the APC ticket from the prior Muslim-Muslim formula to a Muslim-Christian pairing, addressing long-standing calls for greater regional and religious inclusion after extensive consultations. INEC’s late August 2026 candidate list confirmed 18 contenders for the February 6, 2027, election, with Mohammed Ashiru Isa (ADC) as the clearest challenger following his 2023 PDP bid. Lower-priced names such as Shehu Bawa (PDP), Aminu Abdulfatah, Auwal Tafoki, and Danjuma Laah reflect fragmented opposition support and limited recent momentum. Trader pricing aligns with Sani’s incumbency advantages, APC organizational strength, and the running-mate adjustment that broadened appeal in key zones, while scheduled campaign starts in September 2026 and ongoing security concerns remain secondary factors.

This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2027 Kaduna State gubernatorial election. Any interim, acting, or caretaker Governor will not qualify.
If the results are not known definitively by October 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".
To be elected Governor, a candidate must satisfy the requirements under Nigerian law, including receiving the highest number of votes cast and the constitutionally required geographic distribution of votes. If no candidate wins the election outright, this market will remain open to account for any further election or runoff, provided this occurs before the resolution deadline. If no candidate has been officially elected by the resolution deadline, this market will resolve to "Other".
This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results published by Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Nigerian government sources.
