This market will resolve to “Yes” if Vladimir Putin ceases to be President of Russia for any period of time between market creation and the specified date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of Vladimir Putin's resignation/removal before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced resignation/removal goes into effect. If the specified individual is detained, effectively removed from the specified position, or otherwise permanently prevented from fulfilling the duties of the specified position within this market’s timeframe, it will qualify for a “Yes” resolution. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Vladimir Putin and the government of Russia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Putin remains firmly entrenched as Russia's president amid ongoing diplomatic efforts over Ukraine, with no verified signs of imminent removal or succession. As of early September 2026, he met U.S. envoys in Moscow to discuss peace terms while insisting on maximalist demands, including full control of Donbas by year-end, and rejected broader ceasefires. Russian forces continue incremental advances in Donetsk, though Ukrainian drone strikes have strained fuel supplies and infrastructure. Parliamentary elections scheduled for September 2026 test elite cohesion and public tolerance for war costs, yet the system shows no fractures that would trigger leadership change. Speculation around eventual succession focuses on long-term elite dynamics rather than short-term exits, with constitutional procedures favoring continuity through the prime minister if needed. These factors shape trader assessments of near-term stability.
