This market will resolve to "Yes" if there have been the specified amount or more confirmed cases of Measles (Rubeola) in humans in the territory of the United States of America in 2026 according to the CDC case counter between January 1, 2026, 12:00 AM ET and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market will be the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter (see: https://www.cdc.gov/measles/data-research/index.html) at the resolution time. If the counter becomes unavailable, another credible source will be used. Note: Only cases reported by the CDC Measles (Rubeola) counter will qualify, regardless of reports from U.S. State agencies or other sources.**Sustained domestic transmission from large, multi-state outbreaks continues to drive elevated U.S. measles case counts in 2026.** As of early September, the CDC has confirmed 3,134 cases—already well above the 2025 full-year total of 2,289—with 95% linked to outbreaks and 94% occurring in unvaccinated or unknown-status individuals. Major clusters persist or have expanded in Pennsylvania, Utah, South Carolina, and other states, fueled by pockets of low MMR coverage that allow rapid spread of the highly contagious airborne virus. Hospitalizations stand at roughly 8%, while federal and state authorities differ on classifying two recent Pennsylvania deaths. Weekly CDC surveillance updates and the November PAHO review of U.S. elimination status (lost after sustained transmission) remain key near-term data points that could influence trader assessments of final 2026 totals.
