The tight clustering of implied probabilities around 44–48.5% for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix fastest lap reflects broad parity under the 2026 regulations, which introduced smaller, lighter cars, active aerodynamics, and power units split roughly 50/50 between internal combustion and electric energy. New or restructured constructors such as Cadillac (Ferrari customer units), Audi, and Red Bull Powertrains with Ford add further unknowns after limited preseason data, while established teams like Mercedes, Ferrari, and McLaren showed competitive long-run and single-lap pace in testing. Baku’s long straights reward top-end speed and efficient energy deployment, but tire degradation on the abrasive street circuit and strategic tire choices often determine who posts the quickest lap late in the race or on low fuel. With no dominant team emerging yet and historical fastest laps frequently going to non-race winners, trader consensus views every constructor as having realistic potential.
