**Nwifuru Francis Ogbonna of the APC holds an 82.5% implied probability as the frontrunner for the February 2027 Ebonyi gubernatorial election, reflecting his incumbency, party dominance, and recent endorsements.** Multiple clans (including the Izzi), youth groups, health insurance beneficiaries, and some opposition figures have backed his second-term bid, citing infrastructure gains, security improvements, and empowerment programs. The APC has publicly framed Ebonyi as a one-party state with no vacancy in Government House, while local government chairmen face pressure to deliver strong results or face replacement. The Supreme Court’s September 5, 2026, affirmation of Nwifuru’s 2023 victory over PDP challenger Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii further consolidated his position. Odii (3.2%) and Labour Party candidate Splendor Oko Eze (5.8%) remain the most visible alternatives but face structural barriers, including limited cross-party momentum and internal opposition challenges. Trader pricing aligns with these developments, including INEC’s candidate list publication and the start of formal campaigning, underscoring the incumbent’s advantages heading into the contest.

This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2027 Ebonyi State gubernatorial election. Any interim, acting, or caretaker Governor will not qualify.
If the results are not known definitively by October 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".
To be elected Governor, a candidate must satisfy the requirements under Nigerian law, including receiving the highest number of votes cast and the constitutionally required geographic distribution of votes. If no candidate wins the election outright, this market will remain open to account for any further election or runoff, provided this occurs before the resolution deadline. If no candidate has been officially elected by the resolution deadline, this market will resolve to "Other".
This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results published by Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Nigerian government sources.
