This market will resolve to “Yes” if Ilie Bolojan ceases to be Prime Minister of Romania for any period of time between market creation and the specified date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of Ilie Bolojan's resignation/removal before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced resignation/removal goes into effect. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Ilie Bolojan and the government of Romania; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Romania's ongoing political crisis centers on caretaker Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, whose coalition government fell to a 281-4 no-confidence vote on May 5, 2026, after the Social Democratic Party (PSD) withdrew support over austerity measures and plans to list minority stakes in state-owned enterprises. Bolojan has remained in office with limited powers since then, while President Nicușor Dan's attempts to install a successor—nominating Eugen Tomac and Adrian Veștea—failed amid coalition breakdowns involving PNL, USR, UDMR, PSD, and AUR. As of early September 2026, four months into the deadlock, consultations continue without a confirmed majority for a new cabinet, leaving fiscal reforms and EU deficit targets in limbo. Any parliamentary approval of a replacement government would end Bolojan's interim role, with traders monitoring negotiation timelines and potential snap votes for resolution signals.
