This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Democratic Party to contest the 2026 election for Attorney General of Rhode Island. The Democratic Primary is scheduled to take place on September 9, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Democrat sources, including https://democrats.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market.Kim Ahern holds a dominant position in the Democratic primary for Rhode Island attorney general, set for September 9, reflecting her background as a former prosecutor, deputy chief of staff, and Cannabis Control Commission chair, along with recent endorsements from figures such as former Vermont Governor Howard Dean. Late-campaign exchanges, including mutual accusations over financial disclosures and policy records involving rival Keith Hoffmann, have sharpened contrasts but appear to have consolidated support around Ahern among primary voters. The other declared candidates—state representatives Jason Knight and Joseph Solomon Jr.—remain at the margins, consistent with limited polling movement and lower name recognition in the open race to succeed term-limited Attorney General Peter Neronha. The primary winner will face independent Alan Gordon in the November general election.
