Presidential elections are scheduled to be held in Nigeria on January 16, 2027. This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2027 Nigerian presidential election. This market includes any potential second round. If the results are not known definitively by October 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results as reported by Nigerian government sources, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (https://www.inecnigeria.org/).Bola Tinubu holds the strongest position in the 2027 Nigerian presidential election market due to his incumbency, confirmation as the All Progressives Congress nominee, and the party’s control of most state governments along with a legislative supermajority. These structural advantages have supported trader consensus around his leading probability despite economic challenges. The opposition remains divided across multiple tickets, including Peter Obi on the Nigeria Democratic Congress slate with Rabiu Kwankwaso as running mate and Atiku Abubakar on the African Democratic Congress with Rotimi Amaechi, preventing consolidation of anti-incumbent support. Independent forecasts released in early September project Tinubu carrying roughly 20 states under current conditions. INEC’s August publication of candidate particulars and the start of formal campaigning have not altered the market’s assessment of these dynamics ahead of the January 16 vote.
