Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor’s unopposed victory in the May 2026 APC direct primary, securing 345,375 votes across Delta State wards, has consolidated his position as the ruling party’s nominee for the 2027 governorship election. As incumbent, he benefits from federal APC alignment, documented defections from former PDP structures, and endorsements by key political figures and groups emphasizing continuity under the MORE Agenda. Campaign activities for governorship races open September 9, 2026, with traders viewing his record of infrastructure and investment initiatives as a central factor in current pricing. Rivals including Great Ogboru of the ADC and lower-polling contenders face structural barriers from party fragmentation and limited statewide organization, though legal challenges in other parties and turnout dynamics could still influence final margins.

This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2027 Delta State gubernatorial election. Any interim, acting, or caretaker Governor will not qualify.
If the results are not known definitively by October 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".
To be elected Governor, a candidate must satisfy the requirements under Nigerian law, including receiving the highest number of votes cast and the constitutionally required geographic distribution of votes. If no candidate has been officially elected by the resolution deadline, this market will resolve to "Other".
This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results published by Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Nigerian government sources.
